Because if it was just 3rd party software then everyone involved would have been detected and would have gotten a strike technically. I think Niantic is looking for these certain things and habits. which I'm sure gets documented and maybe flagged. It's impossible to click on 10 pokemon in 3 seconds. Considering the shiny checker option on the nearby radar is clicking on a bunch of pokemon at once and lets face it. Used it for a couple hours & got a nice number of shinys them boom got hit with a 7 day red warning 6 hours later. Theirs day's i grind and theirs days were I barely play at all and I always follow the rules.Then 3 days after people reported that they were hit I ironically discovered the shiny checker option under the nearby radar section. The very first day of the banwave I was fine. I think it's the actions we are doing in the game that are getting us caught.
